Tŷ Aberdafen presents Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation – the latest evidence and practice
Premiere Healthcare were proud to exhibit at the recent inaugural national forum for professionals working in brain injury. The event was held on Friday 22 April 2016 at The Hilton Hotel, Kingsway, Cardiff.
After the initial welcome, the day started with Dr Rodger Ll. Wood (Emeritus Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology, Swansea University) delivering the foundations and practice of neurobehavioural rehabilitation. To follow, Professor Jon Evans (Professor of Applied Neuropsychology, University of Glasgow) spoke about the Emerging Potential of Positive Neuropsychology: interventions in Neurorehabilitation. We heard case studies from Tŷ Aberdafen presented by Dr Tracey Ryan-Morgan (Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, at Tŷ Aberdafen, BIRT Wales).
After lunch delegates listened to Dr Miles Rogish (Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, BIRT) who talked of compassion-based staff training in Neurorehabilitation. Professor Nigel Harris (Designability, Bath Institute of Medical Engineering) spoke in-depth about the increasing role of Assistive Technologies in Neurorehabilitation and then Dr Sara Da Silva Ramos (Research Fellow, The Disabilities Trust) closed the forum with a research round-up, summarising the latest research in Neurorehabilitation.
It was a fantastic event for healthcare professionals, which also provided the opportunity for delegates and exhibitors to network with other professionals at registration, during lunch and refreshment breaks. We were delighted to see many familiar faces and have the opportunity to meet a whole host of new healthcare professionals.
