Our care team will ask relevant and important questions to form an accurate picture of the chair user, their needs and challenges, and their environment. This helps your local expert assessor to ensure that we get it right on the day we visit. Then we’ll arrange to come out to the chair user at a convenient time for you. And we’ll confirm all the details by email.
The Premiere Healthcare needs assessment visit – our showroom to you!
Usually we bring one or two options for the chair user to try out, based on information gathered during the initial call. But before bringing them in we’ll complete a thorough needs assessment.
We take the time to listen, and consider all the things that make us individual. This includes medical history, physical limitations, challenges, and any impairments affecting the specialist seat user. We’ll discuss and set clear goals for functionality and quality of life.
Then we take key personal measurement points to ensure that the seat can achieve exactly the right height, depth and width, the armrest is perfectly positioned, and the back height is correct. And we consider pelvic alignment, spinal curve and head position, ensuring that the patient’s feet are flat on the ground or footrest if needed.
During this process we’ll choose pressure redistribution features to reduce the risk of pressure injury (sores and ulcers). For example ’tilt in space’ might be an ideal seating feature.
As a result we can achieve our goal, the ideal seating posture for comfort, stability and balance.
