Premiere Healthcare were proud to exhibit at the recent South West and West Wales Brain Injury Conference 2016. The event was held on Friday 13th May 2016 at The Liberty Stadium in Swansea.
After the initial welcome, the day started with Dr Dindinedra Gill (National Co-Director, Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service Cymru) speaking about pre-hospital head injury management in Wales. To follow, we heard from the ‘Gee’ family, who talked about the impact of brain injury from the perspective of husband, wife and daughter. Dr Giles Yeates (Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist, Community Head Injury Service, Buckinghamshire) then explained the importance of Supporting Inter-dependence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
After lunch, delegates enjoyed workshops on The Benefits of Assistance Dogs (Burns Pet Nutrition), The Impact of Brain Injury on the Family System (Kate Meredith, Speech and Language Therapist and Family Therapist, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Meredith Therapies Ltd.) and The Science of Happiness (Dr Zoe Fisher, Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology, Traumatic Brain Injury Service, Morriston Hospital)
It was a fantastic event for healthcare professionals, which also provided the opportunity for delegates and exhibitors to network with other professionals at registration, during lunch and refreshment breaks. We were delighted to see many familiar faces and have the opportunity to meet a whole host of new healthcare professionals.
