Just when we thought the Careflex MultiAdjust couldn’t get any better, it goes and fills a gap in the market with a new smaller size option! The CareFlex MultiAdjust is already one of Premiere Healthcare’s most popular chairs, but we love it even more now it’s available in a new small size as well. In this blog, we’ll look at the latest model and the reasons why clients choose CareFlex MultiAdjust.
What is the CareFlex MultiAdjust?
We are big fans of the CareFlex range of specialist seating, and waxed lyrical about the CareFlex HydroTilt in our recent blog. The innovative MultiAdjust is equally impressive and offers something completely unique to the multi-user market. With its adjustable, modular design and interchangeable accessories, it means that the chair can be adapted to suit several different users at different stages of their lives.
The MultiAdjust also has the benefit of being tool-free, so adjustments can be made easily and simply so that the user can experience a high level of postural support and pressure care without compromising on comfort. Features such as tilt-in-space, back angle recline and lower limb support come as standard, and it is suitable for a range of users including those with neurological and neuromuscular conditions, cardiovascular conditions, orthopaedic conditions, the frail and elderly and now, thanks to the new smaller size, children and adults with petite frames.
Reasons we love the CareFlex MultiAdjust
1. It is now available in a small size
One of the biggest evolutions of the CareFlex MultiAdjust is that it is now available in a small as well as medium size. This is a great benefit for petite adults, those who are frail and elderly or who have certain learning disabilities for whom a smaller chair frame feels more secure. Of course, it is also suitable for children and teens, with the added benefit that the chair can be adjusted to grow with them as they develop and mature.
2. Sit-to stand improvements
The latest model boasts specially designed armrests that have adjustable heights and allow for the use of the stand aid hoist and sling applications. The arms are also fully removable which means patients can be transferred laterally from both sides. In addition, because the small chair has a lower floor to seat height, it makes standing from sitting much easier for users.
3. Multi adjustments for multi-user environments
One of the biggest benefits of the CareFlex MultiAdjust is that it can be adjusted to suit several different users. This means it is the ideal choice for multi-user environments such as hospices and healthcare settings as it can be set up for any user. It also means it is ideal for community loan stores as it can be reset and sent out quickly for new users. The added benefit of the small size option means it can also be used for young patients as well as smaller adults or the frail and elderly who might have felt swamped in standard sized chairs.
4. Tool-free, easily adjustable features
The MultiAdjust has been designed so that all adjustments are simple to use, easy to find and tool-free where appropriate. As the chair is so adjustable, it means the user does not have the need for lots of different, expensive and easily lost accessories. Adjustments include seat width and depth adjustment, arm height, legrest length and footrest angle. Clear indicators on the insides of the arms help the user make easy adjustments to the desired setting on both sides.
The new MultiAdjust Small has an adjustable width from 330mm to 480mm, and there are four seat height options: 380mm, 405mm, 430mm, and 445mm. But the standout feature is the dual back height adjustments that easily transition from 650mm to 750mm.
5. It fits into any environment
With its slim profile and modern styling, the CareFlex MultiAdjust will fit into a variety of settings. From domestic and home care to educational settings; from hospital wards to rehabilitation centres; from hospice to respite care and from nursing to residential homes, the CareFlex MultiAdjust is at home wherever you put it. Being modular, it can be taken apart, allowing it to fit easily through narrow passageways. And the new MultiAdjust Small is even more versatile: as it is more compact, it is ideal where space is an issue in a setting.
MultiAdjust Small case study
Annabell Crabtree, Premiere Healthcare’s Business Development Manager, on the benefits of the new CareFlex MultiAdjust Small
“Premiere Healthcare was asked to assess a young lady who had cerebral palsy with a very complex posture. She has extremely strong extensor spasms and anxiety, scoliosis and pelvic obliquity. She had previously had another assessment with a different company for a much more complex chair, however, found this to be too uncomfortable and too complicated. We tried her in the CareFlex MultiAdjust Small and she instantly found this comfortable. We were able to fit a pair of lateral supports and a pommel to support her posture. We were asked to widen the pommel and worked with the custom-made designs team to do so. She has a specific four-point belt on her wheelchair which she also wanted on the chair. We were able to work with our manufacturer to match this.”
